York based Angela Gordon & Heather Findlay (both from rock band
Mostly Autumn) have come up with a little gem of twelve tracks, only
two of which they didn't write.
This will appeal more to fans of Fairport Convention or Focus than the
Metalheads, but is still well worth a listen by everyone, if just to
hear the amazing harmonies from the two girls.
Highlights from the album are the haunting 'Yellow Time' and 'Waiting
For The Snow' or the deeper sounding 'Round & Round'. And the flute
on 'How I Feel Today' is as good as anything I've heard by Ian Anderson
for years. But the best must be 'Magpie', just a great tune and lyrics.
Ad to this the excellent covers of Tull's 'Witches Promise' and Stevie
Nicks' 'Forsaken Love' and you have an album which will enhance any
record collection.
